  • Direct on-screen display of copper values

  • Range:
Low range: 0 to 999 ppb

Copper is a metal found in rocks, soil, water, and air. It is an essential element for plants and animals (including humans), meaning it is necessary for life. Therefore, plants and animals must absorb copper from the food or beverages they ingest or from the air they breathe.

Copper is generally found in surface water, typically at concentrations of less than 20 µg/L. It can be detected at higher levels from a consumer's tap water as a product of corrosion from brass and copper pipes. In groundwater, it may be detected as industrial pollution.

Copper is used to manufacture many different products, such as wires, pipes, and metal sheets. Pipe corrosion resulting in copper release can occur when the water has one or more of the following characteristics: low pH, high salinity, high dissolved oxygen content, and/or electrical currents passing through the pipes. Proper water testing and diagnosing the cause of high concentrations are essential to identify a treatment system that will control or correct the issue.

HANNA Checkers

HANNA Checkers are small, portable, and, most importantly, provide more accurate results than typical chemical test kits. Offering improved technology, their simple design allows for easy, hassle-free measurements.

These digital photometers or test kits serve as a bridge between basic test kits and professional instrumentation, such as a calibratable photometer.

  • Use it for quick and precise analysis

  • One-button operation: zero and measure

  • Powered by a single AAA General battery

Conventional test kits are not precise and rely entirely on the user’s interpretation of color, which is why HANNA has digitized this measurement and created an exact pocket-sized colorimeter.

The innovative shape of the Checker ensures it fits comfortably in your hand or pocket. Additionally, the LCD screen is easy to read, with an automatic shut-off function to preserve battery life in case you forget to turn it off.

Easier to use and more accurate than visual test kits:

  • High accuracy

  • Large, easy-to-read digits

  • Automatic shut-off

Dedicated to a single parameter:

  • Designed to work with HANNA reagents

  • Uses 10 mL glass cuvettes
