The REEFER Peninsula 500 G3 is a high-end reef/display aquarium in the peninsula style: long format, viewing from (typically) three sides (two long sides plus front), ideal for room dividers or where you want immersive visual access. It’s part of Red Sea’s G3 line, which brings upgrades in plumbing (flow, noise), structural support, integrated automation (ATO, leak detection, temp), and compatibility with modern accessories (ReefMat etc.).

In “Complete System” or “Black Cabinet” versions many of the core structural, plumbing, and monitoring features are included; lighting, skimmers, pumps etc. may or may not be part of the exact package depending on whether it is a standard, deluxe, or “Max” bundle.

Here are the important design, engineering, and functional features of the 500 G3 model.

Glass & Structural Design
- Ultra-clear, rimless / bevelled-edge glass panels with ~15 mm glass thickness on front, side, bottom, and back for the 500 G3.
- Cabinet built from marine-spec plywood, with laminate or epoxy finish, stainless hinges, leveling feet, built for strength.
- Euro-braced design: the display tank has reinforcement on the long spans (top brace) for rigidity.
Plumbing / Flow / Filtration System
- G3 “hydrodynamic” plumbing: improved downflow design (often rectangular inlet), reduced turbulence, better efficiency.
- ReefGate precision valve for fine-tuning overflow/downflow, helps noise control.
- Dual side returns with curved nozzle outlets to distribute water flow more evenly across the display.
- Central or side overflow with built-in surface skimmer weirs to remove surface film etc.
Sump / Mechanical Filtration / Automation
- “REEF SPEC” sump included in many packages: includes mechanical chamber (micron socks, media cups), and is ReefMat-ready (so you can install a roller filter in future).
