Over time and with use, junctions can become clogged or contaminated, and if replacement is not possible, the only option would be to dispose of the pH meter entirely. However, thanks to the removable fiber junction of the electrode, the Hanna HI98107 pH meter has a longer lifespan than other pH meters. This junction is 2 cm long and, when contaminated or no longer functioning effectively, it can be replaced with a new one—extending the electrode’s life, and therefore, the tester’s. Additionally, all pH meters and instruments in the pHep series come with a protective cap for the electrode.
