Description
ReefRun G2 DC 6000 Pump
Silent. Powerful. Smart.
The Red Sea ReefRun G2 6000 DC Pump is part of Red Sea’s advanced second-generation ReefRun line, designed to provide improved efficiency, quieter operation, and greater control over water flow compared to its predecessors. Engineered for medium to large reef or saltwater aquariums, it’s ideal as a return pump or for circulation systems that demand a higher flow rate.
This version is supplied without the external controller, but it still includes an integrated local flow controller for manual adjustment and on/off control. When paired later with the ReefRun Dual Controller, the pump becomes part of Red Sea’s ReefBeat smart ecosystem, unlocking features like flow scheduling, maintenance modes, and real-time performance monitoring. Positioned between the smaller 4000 model and the higher-capacity 8000/12000 units, the G2 6000 offers an excellent balance of power, quietness, and energy efficiency for a broad range of aquarium setups.

Efficient. Quiet. Smart.

Flow Controller
The controller allows you to manually turn the pump ON and OFF and adjust its intensity without an internet connection, enabling you to use the pump either independently or as part of the ReefBeat App ecosystem (via the ReefRun Dual Controller).
Dimensions

The ReefRun G2 6000 delivers an adjustable flow range of approximately 950 to 1700 US gallons per hour (GPH), equivalent to around 3600 to 6500 liters per hour. It is capable of achieving a maximum head height of about 14.4 feet (4.4 meters), providing sufficient lift for taller or more complex sump-to-display plumbing configurations.
Power consumption varies with flow, typically between 22 and 56 watts, making it an energy-efficient choice for continuous operation. The pump operates on a 24 V DC power supply and uses sine-wave DC motor technology, which ensures smooth, quiet, and vibration-free performance.
Physically, the G2 6000 measures roughly 8.2 inches long, 4.7 inches wide, and 5.2 inches high, and comes with a 10-foot (3 meter) power cable for flexible placement. Plumbing connections include PVC adapters (¾″ and 1″ / 25 mm and 32 mm), hose barbs (1″ and 1¼″), and a 1″ male threaded GAS fitting. The 180-degree rotatable outlet allows for versatile installation, while the inlet flow guide minimizes surface air draw and helps maintain consistent performance.
Additional built-in features include a soft-start function, which allows the pump to ramp up gradually after startup or maintenance, and an integrated manual control interface for local operation without a controller.
Silent
The pumps’ advanced Sine wave DC motor technology ensures virtually silent operation from the very start, even when running at 100%.

Energy-efficient.

The ReefRun G2 6000 is designed for aquarists who require reliable, adjustable water movement for medium to large aquarium systems. Its wide flow range makes it versatile enough to serve as a main return pump, a closed-loop circulation pump, or part of a multi-pump system in advanced reef setups.
When used at lower flow settings, the pump maintains excellent energy efficiency and quiet performance, making it suitable for installations in living spaces where noise reduction is important. The soft-start feature protects plumbing and prevents surges or splashing during startup.
For systems with longer or more restrictive plumbing runs, the 6000’s higher head pressure (4.4 m) ensures consistent flow delivery, even when positioned in a sump located below or behind the display tank. The 180° rotatable outlet and multiple fitting options simplify plumbing, whether you’re using metric or imperial tubing.
Maintenance is straightforward thanks to the pump’s quick-access housing, which allows for easy cleaning of the impeller and internal components. Regular maintenance will help preserve efficiency and prevent debris buildup.
Because this version ships without a controller, users can operate it manually right out of the box. However, pairing it with the ReefRun Dual Controller unlocks full integration with the ReefBeat app, allowing scheduling, performance monitoring, and system alerts for a truly smart, automated experience.
Overall, the Red Sea ReefRun G2 6000 DC Pump offers a dependable and flexible pumping solution that balances power, efficiency, and expandability, making it a strong choice for hobbyists looking for quiet, controllable water movement in modern reef systems.
