When the fleece surface becomes clogged, the ReefMat’s sensors detect pressure or flow resistance and trigger the motor to advance the roll, moving fresh fleece into place.
This continuous advancement allows the system to maintain effective mechanical filtration without requiring you to manually change filter pads or socks every few days.
Once the roll is exhausted (i.e. all 28 m of fleece has been used), you replace it with a new RM 500 roll using the head / spool interface of the ReefMat.
