Description

Reef Construct Epoxy Putty/Clay

Reef Construct Epoxy Putty/Clay is a two-part epoxy putty that, when mixed together, securely bonds rocks, hard and soft corals, and other elements in both freshwater and saltwater aquariums. This putty solves many challenges encountered during aquarium setup. With Reef Construct, you can safely build (bond) rock formations, anchor invertebrates with inadequate base pads, and secure frags/cuttings of hard and soft corals. Reef Construct hardens quickly as a two-part epoxy putty and can even be used underwater. It adheres to rock, wood, metal, glass, plastic, concrete, and most other materials.

Product Details:

Reef Construct Epoxy Putty/Clay is a two-component epoxy putty that requires mixing equal parts of both components to achieve its adhesive and insulating properties, suitable for surfaces such as metal, wood, concrete, ceramics, glass, PVC, and more. It is solvent-free and offers excellent resistance to chemical and mechanical external factors. It can be applied underwater after mixing components A and B. It is resistant to temperatures up to 200°C.

This product can be used as an electrical insulator, for joining cables, repairing cracks and seals in plumbing systems, as an insulator or adhesive for various materials, and for modeling or building prototypes.

Package Contents:

  • Component A: 250g
  • Component B: 250g

Application Instructions:

Mix equal parts of components A and B until a uniform, homogeneous color is achieved (use gloves). Apply the mixture to the surface to be repaired or bonded and smooth it with your finger. Very smooth surfaces can be achieved by finishing with a damp cloth. Heat accelerates the curing process.

The cured product can be painted with epoxy or polyurethane paint.

Surface Preparation:

Remove any grease, rust, dust, or other debris from the surface where the putty will be applied. Sand the surface to create a porous texture if the material is glossy to ensure better adhesion.

Mixture Characteristics:

  • Mixture density at 25°C: 2 g/cm³
  • Working time (12g, 18°C): 3 hours
  • Handling time (12g, 18°C): 2 hours
  • Working time (500g, 25°C): 1.5–2 hours
  • Handling time (500g, 25°C): 1 hour
  • Mixture color: Gray
  • Minimum application temperature: 5°C

Storage:

The product can be stored in tightly sealed containers for up to 6 months at temperatures between 10°C and 30°C while retaining its properties. If the product hardens during storage, heat it to 50°C and stir each component individually until it becomes perfectly homogeneous.

Note:

In case of skin contact with the mixture, wash the affected area thoroughly with warm water and soap. Do not use solvents to remove the product from the skin.
